We have a mini influx of birders this week, with some american visitors and a tour group,so that will increase the chances of things being found. We did have about 15 cm of snow in St.John's today, not good for Lapwings- still lots of open water though and wet areas to find food. Thanks for visiting...Dave Brownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18371399315824812804noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1813820073846310749.post-16963975295384567452010-01-09T18:44:51.928-03:302010-01-09T18:44:51.928-03:30Hi Dave,
Good luck, the weather here is real bad,...Hi Dave,

Good luck, the weather here is real bad, NE wind has increased and temps really low. Large number of Redwing and Fieldfares are in lots of urban areas but running out of food, these birds are certainly going to have to move to survive and my guess is to the west as most of Europe is severe. How about European Bittern - lots are having it bad at the moment, simply -cant feed. American Bittern has made it here, so why not ! Good luck we are counting on you !
Mark Thomas

http://bucktonbirder.blogspot.com/Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
